Our precious greenbelt is being destroyed. Labour's new planning rules and the Lib Dems housing plan means developers now have a free for all to build over our green fields.
The Liberal Democrat’s promised at election after election that they would protect our green belt.
They now have the council and two MPs, yet our green belt has never been more vulnerable.
Labour's new rules are requiring Stockport to build 25,000 homes over the next few years, a 20% increase in the number of existing homes and includes plans for 300 homes off Sandown Road, 500 homes off Cow Lane and 120 homes off Sanderling Road.
We Conservatives believe in building homes on Brownfield and Greybelt first, but only if there is provision of the necessary infrastructure to support them.
