There are a number of traffic management changes over the coming months as the travis brow link Road is connected into the rest of the network.

King Street West/ Chestergate

Travis Brow Link Road
Progress made during w/c 28/01/19
· The Viaduct stabilization works to arch 23 (rock anchors)is nearing completion.
· Kerbing, drainage, ducting and full road construction capping and MOT layer to new Travis Brow Link Road carriageway.
· Embankment stabilisation works above the new cycleway are complete. The combined cycle/ pedestrian pathway continues to be worked on this week and sub base layer and pin kerbs are installed along the full length of the retaining wall section approaching the viaduct.
· Brickwork/ blockwork cladding to the retaining wall commence on 24th January (progress delayed further this week due to snow fall and low temperatures)
· Shotcrete covering to the contiguous wall vertical drainage is now complete and all areas are now made ready to start the brickwork cladding.
· Highway works to Wellington Road North and Georges Road continue
· TfGM UTC have commenced works to the signalling of the A6 Wellington Rd/ Georges Rd junction.
· Georges Road East beyond B&Q has been confined to one way traffic westbound to facilitate the remodelling works safely. Traffic returns to two way running at week- ends and will continue until further notice.
· UU (Cadent Gas) have carried out a trial hole excavation on the existing gas main on the corner of Railway Street and Wellington Road. Following meetings and discussions with Cadent/ their contractors and SMBC it has been confirmed that although the pipe has been protected in order to stay on programme, a gas diversion is required in order to safeguard the shallow main previously within the footway. The diversion and subsequent carriageway resurfacing locally which is expected to take approx.4-5 weeks will be carried out after completion of the contract so as not to incur delay the contractor. (Any incomplete/ outstanding works at that time associated with the project will be picked up as a separate contract following Cadent`s works).
· Site clearance of land associated with the construction of a new car park off Andrew Street.
Look ahead for w/c 04/02/19
· Completion of the reduced level dig to the new link road under Arch 23 in conjunction with the final phase of rock anchor installation works.
· Sprayed concrete to arch 23 abutments north and south. New carrier drain installation continues.
· Retaining wall cladding brickwork continues, S3 concrete infill to cavities as works proceed.
· New carriageway/traffic islands/drainage/street lighting, UTC ducting and chambers. Commencement of anti- pedestrian paving.
· Completion of the excavation and profiling of embankment to railway Street and Arch 24. Street lighting duct installation, pin kerb installation and formation of east cycle/ footway approaching Wellington Road North.
· Georges Road. The eastbound traffic continues to be diverted from B&Q roundabout.(the diversion will be reintroduced following removal of same for the weekends only)
· Georges Road, new kerbing/ crossings/ UTC works and street lighting to north and south sides continues..
· Wellington Road North/ Georges Rd (East). Traffic management restricting traffic flows inbound and outbound.
· Wellington Rd North. Continuation of excavation and preparation to facilitate footway remodelling working northwards. (flag on edge retaining detail from the Midland Pub to Andrew Street junction continues.)
· Wellington Rd North. Continuation of new island construction and UTC ducts at the new junction.
· Remedial works to new kerbing on inbound lane one. Completion of A6 tunnel filling operation also lane one inbound.
