Please see below update on progress last week and look ahead to this week for the following key Town Centre Access Plan (TCAP) projects:
- King Street West / Chestergate;
- Knightsbridge;
- M60 Junction 1 (Hollywood Way); and
- Travis Brow Link Road.

King Street West/ Chestergate
Progress made during w/c 14/01/19

Knightsbridge
Ongoing works to complete:
· Installation of decorative railings following completion of design
· Coping to new brick wall to be installed following receipt of materials

· Landscaping to be completed during the next planting season
M60 Junction 1 (Hollywood Way)

· Footway surfacing

· Landscaping planting following removal of redundant lighting column
· Servicing to M60 Junction 1 following approval of required Temporary Traffic Regulation Order by Highways England.
Travis Brow Link Road
Progress made during w/c 14/01/19
· Viaduct stabilization works to arch 23 (rock anchors) continues.
· Construction of Travis Brow link Road carriageway, islands and definition. Tarmacadam surfacing has been laid and traffic is now running on a stretch of newly constructed road to allow the construction of islands and footways to progress on the existing carriageway. This week`s activities include kerbing, drainage, ducting and full road construction reduced dig.
· Embankment stabilisation works above the new cycleway are complete. Top soiling and filter drain installation is complete and street lighting ducting has been installed. The combined cycle/ pedestrian pathway has been worked on this week and sub base layer is installed along the full length of the retaining wall section approaching the viaduct.
· Shotcrete covering to the vertical drainage
· Highway works to Wellington Road North and Georges Road continue and works this week include, laying new kerbs, locating/ protecting existing services, new drainage connections, base course tarmac to revised footway arrangements and islands, kerbing to the junction islands and build outs.
· George’s Road East beyond B&Q has been confined to one way traffic westbound to facilitate the remodelling works safely. Following feedback from adjacent stakeholders two way running to be reinstated on George’s Road during weekends.
· UU (Cadent Gas) have carried out a trial hole excavation on the existing gas main on the corner of Laurel St (south).This was needed to determine and then confirm the extent of the diversion works planned in to commence early February 2019.
Look ahead for w/c 21/01/19
· Completion of the reduced level dig to the new link road under Arch 23 in conjunction with the final phase of rock anchor installation works.
· Excavation and insertion of 10 remaining rock anchors/ sprayed concrete to arch 23 abutments north and south.
· Cladding brickwork is scheduled to begin commencing at the `L` shape wall west corner.
· New carriageway/traffic islands/drainage/street lighting, traffic signal ducting and chambers.
· Excavation and profiling of embankment to railway Street and Arch 24. Street lighting duct installation and formation of east cycle/ footway approaching Wellington Road North.
· George’s Road. The eastbound traffic continues to be diverted from B&Q roundabout.(the diversion will be reintroduced following removal of same for the weekends only)
· George’s Road, new kerbing/ crossings/ UTC works and street lighting to north and south sides continues..
· Wellington Road North/ Georges Rd (East). Traffic management restricting traffic flows inbound and outbound (Temporary signals and contraflow traffic on the nights of Mon the 21st and Tues 22nd Jan to facilitate resurfacing works to the junction.), George’s Road closed (in both directions) overnight at the junction
· Wellington Rd north. Continuation of excavation and preparation to facilitate footway remodelling working northwards. (flag on edge retaining detail from the Midland Pub to Andrew Street junction.)
· Remedial works to new kerbing on inbound lane one. Completion of A6 tunnel filling operation also lane one inbound.
