502 Hollywood Way

· Relevelled/raised all iron works and Reset/renewed iron works on Hollywood Way/Brinksway and Wood Street/Yew Street junctions
· Installation of traffic signal infrastructure
· Surfacing and white lining to Hollywood Way/Brinksway and Wood Street/Yew Street junctions
· Works to footway along Hollywood Way
· BT duct installation off Hollywood Way/J1 MW completed.

· Resurfacing works to Wood Street & Yew Street if not completed Friday 9th due to forecasted weather

Travis Brow Link Road
Progress made during w/c 05.11.2018
· Travis Brow embankment reduced dig and disposal of earth continues progressing eastward towards the viaduct and beyond towards wellington Road North. Capping layer installation continues towards the Viaduct.
· Demolition and removal of the reinforced concrete slab and remaining section of tunnel at the east end adjacent to the A6 is now complete.
· Walling off the disused rail tunnel which spans the A6 wellington Road North. The tunnel will be blocked off either end with masonry walls and filled with foam concrete.
· Soil nailing works to the west embankments above the new cycleway have commenced this week and are progressing towards Georges Road.
· Excavation of the recycled fill in front of the new retaining walls is nearing completion.
· The new drainage attenuation tank in the Travis brow/ Hope Street verge is installed and backfilling is nearing completion
· Drainage installation crossing Travis Brow from south to north has commenced this week.
· Highway works to wellington Road North outbound side (west) continue.
Works planned for next week
· Reduction of stockpiled materials, reduced level dig to the new link road continues.
· Continuation of excavation in front of the new retaining wall to make ready for the brickwork cladding support installation.
· Preparation of the redundant rail tunnel beneath the A6 which is scheduled to be filled with foam concrete.
· Soil nailing of the north west embankment.
· Preparations for new drainage and concrete footings for retaining wall brick cladding.
· Wellington Road North. Traffic management restricting traffic flows in each direction (lane one bus lane closures) continues.
o Outbound, continuation of excavation to facilitate footway remodelling working northwards. Preparation and concreting of narrow widening concrete slab and new drainage runs continues.
o Inbound, continuation of drainage works and UTC ducting and chamber installation.
· Travis Brow. Traffic management restricting traffic flows in each direction will continue in each direction for the time being.
o Outbound, The current single lane traffic will continue in lane 2 for the time being. A drainage trench, ultimately crossing the whole of Travis Brow from south to north in three phases has commenced this week in lane one outbound. Phase 2 will cross lanes 2 in either direction and the central reserve.
o Inbound, The current single lane traffic at the site entrance will continue and switch from lane two to lane one after the site entrance to allow continued safe access and egress for tipper wagons.
· Travis Brow. Continued construction of the new drainage attenuation tank in the grass verge next to Hope Street.
Forward looking traffic management: The lane closure on Travis Brow outbound (towards M60 Junction 1) will be in place until Friday 16th November with the inbound closure in place until Thursday 22nd November. On A6 Wellington Road North (north of the M60) the inbound (heading south towards Stockport) bus lane closure will be in place until Friday 16th November and the outbound bus lane closure, by agreement with the bus operators and TfGM, will be in place until Thursday 13th December. George’s Road will be restricted to single direction traffic flow from Monday 3rd December. Diversion signs will be in place and the completed highway improvements at Knightsbridge and Hollywood Way will help to mitigate traffic congestion as will tweaks to local traffic signals timings.
