• An exceptionally high level of congestion was experienced during the evening peak period on Tuesday. We engaged with Transport for Greater Manchester’s Urban Traffic Control (TfGM UTC) at the time and asked them to actively control the traffic signals to manage the situation. Despite this, significant delays were experienced. The traffic management on the Pyramid roundabout, which is currently in place to provide a safety zone between the works area and live highway, will be removed this weekend by pulling back the barriers (still maintaining a safety barrier to the work site) to open it back up to 2 lanes of traffic and the partial westbound lane closure on the roundabout will be removed.
Look ahead for w/c 12.03.2018
• Demolition and excavation works
• Concrete to be laid
• Lane 1 closure on Yew Street in place from 2.01.18 for a period of c. 6 months
• Lane 1 closure of Hollywood Way on northbound approach to M60 junction 1 roundabout from 10.02 for a period of 4 weeks (off peak only, as and when required )
• No intrusive traffic management will be in place on the Pyramid Roundabout

Note: During the piling works further settlement of the carriageway was noted around the western chamber of the attenuation tank. We are proposing to undertake some exploratory works to establish the cause of the settlement. Once a conclusion has been reached we will conduct the necessary remedial works. This work was not identified in the original scope of works we are currently working with the contractor to understand the implications for these additional works on the programme. Further details will follow once the outcome of the exploratory works have been determined.
