As elected representatives, the duty of Cllr Kenny Blair and Tom Dowse is to represent residents of Marple South on the council. However, they must always comply with statutory requirements and when it comes to Planning, this is a quasi judicial process and they must make decisions based on the legislation and policies in place at that time and on the facts of the application in front of them.
Cllrs Kenny Blair and Tom Dowse both attended the Public Meeting on Friday 7th July 2017 relating to the Garden House and have received lots of queries in relation to it.
Cllr Kenny Blair said, " We recognise the public outcry in relation to Council Officers refusing a Planning Application for the Garden House in Marple, which has become a popular visitor attraction in the area.
We also recognise that not all residents are happy with the location of the Garden House. Tom and I are working with the concerned residents on all sides and Council Officers to ascertain what has happened and if there is any way we can progress this to a satisfactory conclusion for everyone".
