Marple Leisure Hub

Latest update from Stockport Council

"We received a total of 758 responses on the proposals from individual residents and community groups.

During the consultation process the council gave a commitment that all comments received would be considered, analysed, and where possible used to inform the next stages of the design of the Leisure and Community Hub. We have collated and analysed all responses received and are able to share progress and changes to the scheme as a result on the Council’s Consultation website here."

The plans have been updated to a two storey rather than three storey building, with the entrance now on the park side, with easier access to toilets and pool spectator and health centre on first rather than second floor.

"We can confirm that between 29 February to 3 March 2024 Marple Library will be temporarily closed to the public to allow for a ground investigation survey to take place. The library will re-open as usual on the 4 March 2024."
